I’m a chemical engineer working in the energy sector, assisting our countries transition to net zero. Outside of work I enjoy football, running and going to the gym.

How I use Maths in my work:
As an engineer, I spend a lot of time trying to work things out, this involves using and being able to rearrange algebraic equations to figure out the answer. Part of my job is about sizing different vessels, which requires formulas of volumes of various different shapes.

My Work:
I work for a design house, working on projects with clients across the country. We look at existing systems and try and design changes to make them more energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

My Typical Day:
I mostly work from home, so I get up, go to the gym and then get home to start work for 8:30. I work at my computer, sizing something, drawing a diagram, writing a report, etc. until about 5:30, when I log off.
