That’s a tricky question, it looks like the average Gen z work will have 15 jobs in their life time. I am currently on around 8 jobs in my 20s. I believe that I am likely to change my job role slightly as that is a part of progressing in the company. There are many factors for why someone might leave their company such as family or salary. I personally don’t have any reasons to leave my current role however that could change in the future as I am still in the early part of my career.
Since I graduated in 1999, I have worked for 3 organisations, Atos Origin for 6 years, Fujitsu for almost 20 years, and now FSP since April.
I was fortunate at Fujitsu that I didn’t need to leave for a better role or more pay and progressed through their grading structures, hence why I was there for so long.
I moved this year for a different opportunity, looking for a new challenge in a new organisation, this may however be my last move.
I have a temporary contract (I’m on the last of three years) and I will try to apply for another job at the same company after I finish. But I’m still wondering about going back to academia for a PhD – maybe a bit later on. Some people stay in these jobs for decades! I like a lot of variety though.

What type of job might you like to have in your future years?
