My greatest achievement is probably winning an award for my work in safety and security. I was named as one of the Top 50 Women In Engineering in 2023. That was really special as it looked at both my career and my STEM work.

During my PhD, I developed a vaccine for Streptococcus pneumoniae (a bacteria that can live in your nose and throat) that can be sniffed rather than injected. It created immunity at the mucosal surfaces of the nose and lungs. I’ve also set up a network at the University of St Andrews to help make Wikipedia and her sister projects more inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible places for all forms of knowledge. Those are probably the things that I’ve done that I am most proud of!
