• Question: Still unsure whether to pursue maths or engineering. Maths is my safe option and opens a lot of doors but im not as good as physics as i am with maths. What advice would you give as I am stuck between the two?

I would suggest that you choose a subject you enjoy. Studying a single subject for most of your time is much easier if you love what you are doing.

If you choose to pursue maths, then there are lots of options within that field such as mechanics and statistics. But the same will be true for engineering.

I studied maths and statistics at university having found maths very fun at school. I soon discovered that university-level maths often involves mathematical symbols rather than numbers and I’m a number-lover! Therefore, I opted for statistics modules which were all about numbers so I adapted my degree to suit my interests.

So, I would suggest that you opt for whichever you feel most passionate about and see what happens.

      Good luck!
