  I use maths, and work with mathematicians and statisticians in my job, but I am not a mathematician. However, I would say that in my area of work, those dealing with maths do tend to use specialised software (eg statistics, data visualisations) or write such software themselves.

Question: Do you need to have special tools to be a mathematician ?
