So i’m a university lecturer, I teach students about brains, behaviour, and research which includes math (statistics!), and I get to do some research about how our brains deal with math and anxiety toward it. I’d rate my job 9.5 out of 10, this is the job I’ve wanted for the past 15 years and i’m very lucky to be doing it. I get to meet loads of different people, from all of my students, to the staff, researchers, and guests that come to the university. I also get to talk about the things that I love, which is a big plus because I seem to never be able to stop talking! The only downside about my job is that sometimes marking essays can get a little boring. There are always really interesting pieces of work to look at, but after marking 60 of them you could really do with a change in topic!
